Mumbai, July 15 (IANS) All brides wish to shine on their wedding day. How about getting the top wedding trends straight from the designers?

Cosmetic giant Lakmé Absolute Salon in association with fashion and lifestyle webzine Fashion Most Wanted has come up with the concept called 'The Bridal Show' that not only celebrates the onset of the bridal season, but also gives brides-to-be a chance to preview trends and plan their bridal look better.

The show witnesses participation of some of the promising bridal wear designers including Mumbai-based Anisha Shetty, Spain-based Natasha Lalwani and Kolkata-based Sanchita Julka, who showcase their collections of wedding trousseaus that are not only restricted to the bride but also her extended family members and relatives.

"My designer-wear presents the contemporary bride who is ready to experiment with different looks. This collection has an assimilation of various stunning embroideries such as gota-patti, zardozi, kundan, pearl and diamonds. Festive colours such as pink, blue, sea green and purple complete this collection," Lalwani said.

Julka feels that "red is the colour of passion, of love and of the Indian bride and her collection is all about the Indian beauty today who is a modern girl, perfectly balancing between her Indian roots and global awareness."

Shetty, whose designs are often flaunted by actress Saumya Tandon in her &TV show "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain", says her collection has a variety of bridal wear that ranges from the typical traditional lehenga to western contemporary silhouettes, and even modern and royal.

"The use of fabrics such as brocade, raw silk and nets make for a great Rajasthani bridal look. The collection is ideal for the bride that does not shy away from colours and embroidery. There is a lot of traditional zardosi work for the bride who prefer leaning towards a traditional and elegant look," said the designer.

Pushkaraj Shenai, CEO of Lakmé Lever, has shared that at Lakmé Absolute Salon, they understand the importance of wedding in a bride's life.

"This bridal show aims to be a complete solution to every bride-to-be's styling and beauty needs," said Shenai.
