For this edition of Illuminated Artiste of the Month, BollyCurry brings to you the man with a soulful voice, Kunal Ganjawala. From early childhood, Ganjawala harbored dreams of pursuing a career within

acting. However, after fellow students recognized his talent for singing in school and with the love and support from his parents, he left to make his voice be heard by the masses. His talent finally brought him to Bollywood but the journey was not without his fair share of struggles. His debut song "Ab Ke Baras" might have passed without much notice but it did bring him an array of new offers. His breakthrough came in 2005 with the super hit song "Bheege Hont Tere" from Murder. The song created waves upon its release and made Ganjanwala a star overnight. It also won him the Zee Cine Best Playback Singer and IIFA Best Male Playback awards. Now with years of singing experience tucked under his belt, he has finally established himself as a reputed singer in Bollywood.

Ganjanwala has also taken part in several singing competitions. He appeared in Sa Re Ga Ma in his early days and eventually moved on to judging music competitions such as Amul Star Voice of India. Along with being active in Hindi cinema, Ganjanwala has also staked his place in the Southern film industry where he quickly received fame and recognition. To sate, he has sung approximately 450 songs in Kanadda and continues to do so.

Over the years, Ganjawala has excelled himself by working with many known music directors and continuously delivering hit tracks, be it "Dil Keh Raha Hi" from Kyon Ki or "Pari" from Saawariya or the newest addition to his list "Tu Hi Toh Hai" from Akshay Kumar's upcoming film Holiday - A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. To top it all,, he can also sing in several other languages including Tamil, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi and Telugu.
