Bollywood actors are celebrated globally not only for the super-hit
movies in their kitty, but also their long career graphs that can be
dated quite a while back. One
thing that really sets them apart is their "everlasting youth formula"
i.e. how they keep themselves maintained and young-looking despite
crossing their late forties. Anything and everything, from a fatherly
figure to a college-going hunk, these are among the wonders of the youth
formula.
However, if the same formula is used repeatedly, it can have adverse
effects, which
means it will stop working. And quite unfortunately, a few named actors
have fallen into this trap. We at BollyCurry are in a critiquing mood
and have very cleverly witnessed this move. Keep calm and read on to see
if your favourite fell prey to this formula.
Popularly named Mr. Perfectionist of
Bollywood owing to his perfect acting, perfect looks and perfect lies?
Yep, you've heard that right.
3 Idiots is undoubtedly among the
most
successful films Bollywood has ever witnessed. Everything about the
movie seems perfect, apart from
Aamir Khan as Rancho. Rancho was
apparently studying engineering as a freshman student. Not very
surprisingly, he looked anything but "fresh" in the
role. When a 44 year old man plays a college student, my friends, that
is the outcome you
get! His acting might be have won one million hearts, but his looks had
us twitching. And to let you
in on another secret, he wasn't the only one in the film who used the
"youth"
formula.
You, yes you smarty pants! You got the hint, didn't you.
The way she walks, the
way she talks, and the way she looks, always gets people swooning. Bebo has delivered several hits, from commercial successes to
critical appreciations. However, the question that pops up in
everyone's mind is... What on earth happened to her in
Bodyguard? Gone are the days of
Kabhi
Khushi Kabhi Gham, and so are many numbers from her age. She's versatile as
an actress, and can pull off any character at her best, but a college student is definitely not on that list.
Playing the role of Divya in the movie
Bodyguard, she looked odd, old and completely out
of place in a classroom full of young students. It looks like Mrs.
Saif Ali Khan
didn't drink enough youth serum to fool the audience.
She's bubbly and she's cute, but she's not a high school girl. Crowney played the role of a high school girl, Ayesha Mehra in Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar.
As cliche as the story was, what irks us even more is that Crowney
being in her late twenties played a high school girl. Actors playing
college-going students had us going haywire, and she went a step further
right into high school! Either we are losing it, or the world is
nearing it's end.
The
inherent Nawab of Bollywood who
can easily slip into one character from another, right? A secret agent, a
teacher, and of course, a carefree young man living the bachelor life.
Whatever
role it may be, there's one thing which always is noticed by many, and
that's
his growing age. It started with
Aarakshan,
where he played a teacher. Nawab saab may have tried to look like a
young professor, but he was criticized for the same and looked rather
like a senior-old prof.
Cocktail, took the same youth formula further when Nawab saab played a casanova.
Really?
Is he even anywhere close to the age he was trying to portray? Well at
least we have not come across a wrinkled man trying to act half his age.
The list does not end here, but if we were to mention all the
youth serum users, an extended essay would be required. The actors
mentioned above are full of talent and among the respected ones in the
industry. Above all, they are loved and appreciated by their fans for
whatever roles they play. They just need to understand that although age
is just a number, at the end of the day looks seal the deal. Therefore
instead of making a 'cauliflower' out of themselves, they are better off
playing their own age.
