Recently, actress Kareena Kapoor's wedding outfit has made quite many
headlines with her revealing her happiness in wearing her
mother-in-law's very own wedding sharara. However, while the
smoke continues to spread, more questions have arisen in the media eye
as to whether the descendant of the famous pioneer of Indian theatre,
Prithviraj Kapoor's great-granddaughter and granddaughter of Raj Kapoor
will indeed drop the 'Kapoor' in her maiden name.
It is widely acknowledged that Kapoor's future mother-in-law, actress Sharmila Tagore, also derived from a renowned Hindu-Bengali family with her lineage being a part of the Nobel laureate poet, writer and philosopher Rabindranath Tagore of whom she is the great-grandniece, converted to Islam later in her life due to her marriage with Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Tagore then became Ayesha Sultana Khan, which was abbreviated to only Ayesha Khan soon after, though her renowned fame through her acting career only allowed her to be recognised as Sharmila Tagore even till date.
So naturally, everyone is abuzz with debates as to whether Kareena will indeed be converting to Islam and whether she will be adopting another name just as Tagore did previously, in order to marry her fiance Saif Ali Khan.
We guess Kapoor's wedding gift from future husband Khan should probably be a name tag to remind her that in October they will officially become Mr and Mrs Khan with or without the Kapoor!
