Canadian actress and model,
Lisa Ray, continues to pile up the
excitement as her wedding approaches with

American-based management
executive and fiance, Jason Dehni, in California. Plans have been made
for their wedding to take place in a very traditional and typical Indian
style on October 20, at Napa Valley, while their reception will be held
in India.
The reception has been planned by
the couple on the Indian turf to ensure that their Indian friends can
be a part of their celebration. However, the venue is yet undecided, as
the Water star has since been engrossed with her shopping
sprees. Though, we can tell you her gown is currently being designed by
renowned Goan-based fashion designer, Wendell Rodricks, who has promised
his dear friend Ray with an 'array' of Indian embellishments during her
fitting session a few days ago. During her sangeet and mehendi ceremonies, the actress will don Indian dresses, to save the spotlight for her gown we're assuming.
When
Ray spoke of her fiance, she explained her efforts of acquainting Dehni
with her cultural roots, and gradually let him take pleasure in
enjoying Indian cinema, culture and cuisine. She further added her
recommendations to future hubby to watch Vidya Balan's much acclaimed The Dirty Picture, which he has noted on his list to watch shortly after Abhay Deol's Dev D.
Ray was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in summer 2009 and chronicling her rare cancer experience in a blog titled The Yellow Diaries,
she believed she could beat the incurable disease. In the same year,
she opted for a stem cell transplant and announced her treatment as
successful in 2010. Since then, she has proudly stated that she is going
to enjoy the 'second chapter' of her life, and further adds that her
wedding will be the high of her life and she has never been happier!
The
philanthropist cum actress has also signed a few movies with many young
directors and is set to produce two of them herself, as she believes
Indian cinema is travelling through an interesting phase. She was
recently seen hosting Food Network Canada's top-rated series' second
season of Top Chef Canada, which premiered earlier in March
this year. At present, Ray has been spotted in the capital for the
launch of the Swiss watch brand's avant-garde collection.
Ray's life has certainly
been a roller-coaster ride but it's great is she's enjoying every
moment of it. Let the difficulties overcome in her life be an example to
us that 'life is worth living through every phase'. Kudos to Ray!
