Seriously, Paresh!

Actor Paresh Rawal, who in recent times has set himself amongst the highest pedestals in comedy, (most recently in laugh-fest De Dana Dan), has decided to take a break from the tickling characters he has essayed. During this hiatus, he plans to focus his energies on more serious roles.

After his brother-in-law passed away last November, the actor has experienced a life changing phase which no longer motivates him to his mastered genre. The serious, message sending roles have hence taken a forefront in his priority.

His next two releases, Rann and Road to Sangam, attest to this. In Rann, Paresh plays a politician who manipulates the media for his own benefits. In stark contrast to this, his character in Road to Sangam is a real person: a motor mechanic from Allahabad, Hasmatullah, who belatedly repaired the car that carried Mahatma Gandhi's ashes to the Ganga River.

How will audiences react to Paresh's career choice? We'll just have to wait and find out!
