Carrie Fisher pressured to lose weight for Star Wars

Carrrie is all set to return to the big screen in the role that made her a household name as Princess Leia in Star Wars : The Force Awakens

But Carrie, 59 now, felt pressured to shed weight and get a leaner avatar to play the grown up Princess Leia in Star Wars: The Force Awakens - in one of the most highly projected films of the century.

While promoting the film, the actress said that she had to lose more than 35lbs for the new film. This is almost 40 years after her first appearance as Princess Leia at the age of 19.

She revealed "They don't want to hire all of me - only about three-quarters! Nothing changes; it's an appearance-driven thing."
