As per reports in a leading daily, in the upcoming film "Mohenjo Daro", Hrithik Roshan, for one scene, was required to take on a 20-foot crocodile.
Since it is obviously not possible to shoot with a live crocodile, a remote-controlled plastic crocodile was used for filming the scene. The rest was to be handled at the post-production stage with computer graphics.
But, no one was aware that this could create some serious trouble between
the actor-director cum good friends Hrithik Roshan and Ashutosh Gowarikar.
Later on, when the film’s team released the pictures of the crocodile
scene on social media it received a lot of mockery. People were labelling it as
a fake crocodile made of plastic and also tagged it as ‘completely unreal’.
Even Hrithik wasn’t spared and trolls made on him and the fake crocodile shown
in the pictures started making rounds in the social world.
All this chaos didn’t
go down well with our Mr.
Perfectionist Hrithik who took the criticism to
Ashutosh and suggested re-shooting the scene along with putting in their best
efforts to make the beast look real. But, director Ashutosh completely rejected
the idea.
As quoted by a leading newspaper, the source said, "Ashu refused. Shooting a period film is very difficult and he wants to go by his own conviction. Ashu is convinced that they had filmed good footage and was not willing to change things because of comments on social media. This created some stress between the actor and the director. When Hrithik is not happy with his work, he is difficult to handle. It keeps niggling him and he gets restless. For now they have decided to stay away from the subject, lest it hamper the progress of the film." [sic]
Currently, the team is not re-shooting the scenes
but Ashutosh and Hrithik have both agreed to rectify the issue at a later
stage.
"Mohenjo Daro" directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar is based on the pre-historic life and is all set to hit the big screens in August 2016.
