Sad Demise: Rani Mukerji's Father Passes Away

Ram Mukerji, Rani Mukherji's father left for heavenly abode this morning at 4am. His body was taken to his house, Janki Kutir at 10.30 am.

As per sources, his cremation will be held at Pawan Hans creamation ground, Vile Parle at 2pm.

Ram Mukerji was a renowed film director, producer and screenwriter in Hindi and Bengali cinema. He is one of the founders of Filmalaya Studios, Mumbai.

His famous works include films like , "Hum Hindustani" (1960) and "Leader" (1964), starring Dilip Kumar and Vyjayanthimala Bali.

He had even directed and produced his daughter Rani Mukherje' debut film, "Biyer Phool" in 1996, and produced her Hindi film Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat in 1997.

We pray for his departed soul to rest in peace and may God grant courage to the family to bear the loss.
