Director Rakesh Roshan's film 'Krrish 3' was a huge success among the audience. But the film has now landed him in a new trouble.Reports in media suggest that an FIR has been filed against him under the Copyrights Act for lifting the film's story from a novel.
According to a report in a leading daily, a city based novelist named Roop Narayan Sonkar has alleged that Krrish 3's story has been adapted from his novel 'Suardan' (2010) without his permission. Roop has claimed that he had published 'Suradan' and had mentioned about a creature combining 'manav' (man) and 'janwar' (animal) and named it 'Manwar'.
Mr. Roshan's film too had expressed the same characters of man and animal. As such, it was an act of Copy Rights Infringement and thus he decided to sue the filmmaker.
The report quoted the police stating that, "Sonkar has submitted a copy of his novel along with the complaint, police said, and a case has been registered against the celebrated filmmaker". [sic]
The report also mentions that Rakesh quoted them in a text message stating that, "The matter is sub-judice. I cannot comment." [sic]
Police is presently said to be investigating the matter and further action is assured if the accused is found guilty.
While the matter is impending, all we can say is hope things get sorted out between the duos soon.
