Rape charge framed against Mahmood Farooqui

Delhi Court has now framed rape charges against 'Peepli Live' co-director Mahmood Farooqui. He has been booked under Section 375 (B) for sexually assaulting an American researcher.

Later in June this year the case was registered against the co-director. However, the court has now gathered the required evidence to start the trail against him.

According to reports, the assault took place in March and one and half months back the woman filed a complaint against Mahmood Farooqui at the New Friends Colony police station in New Delhi.

As per her complaint, Mahmood raped her at a rented apartment in Sukhdev Vihar where she met him to have his help for her research work.

As the complainant is a US National and her visa will expire on 5^th October, 2015; she has requested the court to conduct the trail on a regular basis.
