Filmeraa Celebrates Akash's Independent films

Filmeraa, a new OTT digital platform to showcase independent films is celebrating the 70th Republic Day with Dum Dum Dumroo and Dark Brew streaming on the platform.

On this Akash Goila says, "I could see an urgent need for a platform to distribute class apart independent cinema that has been showcasing at world festivals. I felt that there is a need to have a platform only focusing on the recovery of these non-commercial films.

The independent producers, who face loads of challenges to create a film, we all need a platform that can cherish, appreciate and help get the kind of recovery and reach every film requires."

Director Akash Goila, who is gearing up for his next digital film Bedhab starring Sanjay Kapoor, Karishma Kotak and Aashish Sachdeva in the lead roles has earlier helmed two short films Dum Dum Dumroo and Dark Brew.

Winner of 25 awards all over the world, Dum Dum Dumroo features Sanaya Irani and Anil Charanjeett while Dark Brew stars Vinay Pathak, Sheetal Thakur, and Shibani Bedi in the lead roles.

Both the films earned critical acclaim and were applauded by the viewers. It is interesting to see a platform like Filmeraa in today's age and time who felicitates independent cinema, promoting individual talents, working on boosting recovery and working on building an audience for critically acclaimed films.
