Prolific cinematographer and filmmaker <b>Govind Nihalani</b> who served us with hard-hitting artistic masterpieces like <i>Aakrosh, Ardh-Satya, Vijeta, Drishti</i> and <i>Drohkaal</i> comes up with his latest venture <i>'Dev'</i>. Dev is his second attempt at the so-called commercial cinema after the Ajay Devgan - Tabu starrer <i>Thakshak</i>. In between, he came up with a futuristic film <i>Deham</i> in 2002.<br><br>
As it's USP, <i>Dev</i> brings together the trenchant pairing of the angry policemen of the commercial and artistic Hindi cinema for the first time, played by Amitabh Bachchan and Om Puri respectively. <br><br>
Amitabh Bachchan who striked to stardom in the role of an angry young policeman in <i>Zanjeer</i> and is still eloquent in the role of an angry old policeman in <i>Khakee</i> plays the title role of Dev, the Joint Commissioner of Police. <br><br>
Om Puri who proved his acting credibility in his dynamic portrayal of a cop in <i>Ardh Satya</i> plays Dev's close friend and Special commissioner of police. <br><br>
