About  Agnipankh  (2004)



Agni Pankh is the story of a special breed of people. People who touch the skies to protect our land! People for whom 'Sky is not the limit'. The movie is a tribute to the unsung heroes of Indian Air Force. <br><br>

The film moves on 3 separate levels. <br>
<li>Firstly it's an exciting adventure film full of thrills.</li>
<li>Secondly it has an emotional and dramatic triangle between the 3 protagonists</li>
<li>And finally it is a patriotic film that will not only have audience in the Indian Diaspora standing and cheering, but also global audience who will be left with a lump in their throat.</li><br><br>

<b>Character Sketch</b><br><br>

<li>Siddharth (Jimmy Shergill) is a flamboyant fighter pilot who is quite a ladies man.</li>
<li>Sameer (Sameer Dharamadhikari) is always at loggers head with Siddharth, being a fighter pilot himself.</li>
<li>Vishal (Rahul Dev) is the voice of sanity, one rank senior and newly married.</li>
<li>Nupur (Divya Dutta) is Vishal's wife.</li>
<li>Anjana (Shamita Shetty) is a tomboy (infact almost considered as a guy). She too is a chopper pilot and is secretly in love with Sameer .</li>
<li>Surbhi (Richa Pallod) is a rich man's daughter who does not like flying or pilots and ends up falling for Siddharth. </li><br><br>

Love and passion blossoms against intrigue and hatred. Surbhi is in love with Siddharth. Sameer has fallen for Surbhi and is completely unaware of Anjana'a silent love for him! <br><br>

Enter the evil designs of Pakistani dictatorship on Kashmir. Pathless plotting and planning leads to war. With the activation of the Air Forces, the pilots go to war. Some die?some survive and some are captured. <br><br>

The fast paced climax consists of a dare devil breakthrough from the Pakistani POW camp with our pilots escaping through the jungles with Pakistani rangers and trackers chasing them for the kill. <br><br>

The USP of the film is never before seen shots of fighter planes and other war machines that are sure to excite the viewers universally. This is possibly one of the biggest war film ever made in the Indian subcontinent brought alive on the celluloid with the help of some of the finest technicians of the country. <br><br>

The film has been made with the total co-operation of the Ministry of Defense, the Indian Air Force and the Government of India, without which the film couldn't have taken the shape and colors that it has.<br><br>

The music by Pritam Chakravarthy is fusion of North Indian folk music blended with John William like symphonies to create one of the most exciting musical scores in a long time. This is the saga of love, courage, hatred and sacrifice is directed by debutante Sunjiv Puri and is slated to release on 16 January 2003.
