Biography:

Sonam is the daughter of Anil Kapoor. She was born in an established family. She went to school in Mumbai at the Arya Vidya Mandir School in Juhu and then enrolled in the United World College of South East Asia to do her International Baccalaureate

Unlike most star children, Sonam started life with a structured education, and a grounding in the process of filmmaking.

She graduated from college in Political Science and Economics. She is interested in writing and direction, and has assisted the celebrated director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the production of his films including the path-breaking 'Black'

She made her dream debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansal's Saawariya (2007) opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The film got rave reviews from the critics.

Her second film was with Abishek bachchan in Delhi 6. She got glowing reviews for her role in the film.

Later she did I Hate Luv Storys (2010) which did well at the box office.

Presently she is all set with Pankaj Kapoor's Mausam oppodite Shahid Kapoor.

Personal Life:

Sonam Kapoor was linked up with Ranbir Kapoor when they both did their debut film with Sanjay Leela Bhansalui's Saawariya.
