Biography:

Abhishek Srivastav aka Abhishek Bachchan is the son of Bollywood mega-stars, Jaya Bhaduri and Amitabh Bachchan. He is the grandson of Harivansh Rai Srivastav (Hindu and Urdu poet, who wrote under the pen-name of Harivansh Rai Bachchan) and has a sister Shweta Nanda.

He did his schooling in Jamnabai Narsee School and Bombay Scottish School, both in Bombay; as well as Modern School in Vasant Vihar in Delhi. After which he went to further his studies in Aiglon College. He also studied Business in the United States, but changed his mind and decided to try his luck in Bollywood.

Starting in 2000 with 'Refugee', he went on to star in many other films. Box office success was way away from Abhishek at first. But his career graph began improving and critics starting appreciating him for his role in 'Yuva', Bunty Aur Babli', 'Sarkar', and 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kahena' for which he has won a total of 6 awards.

Personal Life:

Abhishek Bachchan was engaged to Bollywood actress, Karishma Kapoor, but the engagement broke. Then he met Aishwarya Rai, his co-star in several movies, and they got married on April 20, 2007 in Juhu, Bombay. Huge celebrations were held at the Bachchan residences at Pratiskha and Jalsa, as well as the Rai's flat in Bandra.

Controversy:

The Uttar Pradesh government gave the state’s highest award in the field of literature and culture, the Yash Bharati Samman, to Abhishek Bachchan. Abhisek is the fourth person in the Bachchan family who got this award. The award comprises Rs 5 lakh and a citation.

This award gave rise to political drama as other party leaders were of the opinion that someone more deserving should get this award. They said that it would be better if the government had selected some poet, artist or writer from the state for this award.

Abhishek Bachchan portrays a style of his own and claims to be a style icon. He follows the footsteps of his father and adorns a bearded look which has now become his definite style statement. He has also brought back the double button cuffs in the shirt which was suspended from being a fashion statement until Abhishek reinvented it. His dynamic personality adds a stylish look to everything he wears.
