Happy Birthday Genelia and Kajol!

August 5th marks the birthday of two lovely ladies of Bollywood. We're talking about Kajol Devgn and Genelia Dsouza!

Born to Tanuja and Shomu Mukherjee, Kajol began dating Ajay Devgn in 1994 and on 24th February, 1999, they tied the knot in a traditional, Maharashtrian style ceremony. She was blessed with a beautiful daughter, Nysa, on 20th April, 2003 and then, on September 13th, 2010, was blessed with a son who is named Yug. Professionally, Kajol made her debut with Bekhudi in 1992, while she was still in school. To pursue her acting career, she quit her studies and the very next year came out with her first commercial success, Baazigar. Kajol has proved herself as a versatile actress time and time again by effortlessly portraying varied roles such as lead roles, villainous roles, and even 'against the type' roles such as in Dushman. After 2001, she took a break from her career to concentrate on her personal life. She returned to acting in 2006 with Fanaa, followed by U Me Aur Hum in 2008 and My Name is Khan in 2010. Along with establishing herself as one of the most successful female actors of all time, Kajol has also been active outside the film industry as a social activist for widows and children. She also featured as a judge in a reality show on Zee TV and holds a managerial position at Devgn Entertainment and Software.

Daughter to Neil and Jeanette D'Souza, Genelia completed her graduation while she was shooting for Tujhe Meri Kasam, her debut film. However, the film received a lukewarm response and she moved to Telugu cinema where she soon established herself as a high ranking actress. After that she tried her hand in Bollywood once again with the rib tickling comedy Masti in 2004. She received her first Filmfare Award in 2006 for her performance in Bommarillu, which also earned her much critical acclaim. Along with acting, Genelia has also hosted the TV show Big Switch and is the brand ambassador of Fanta, Virgin Mobile India, Fastrack, LG Mobiles, Garnier Light, Margo and Perk. After five years of her stint with the Telugu film industry, Genelia returned to Bollywood in 2008 with Mere Baap Pehle Aap and Jaane tu ya Jaane na. In 2012, she married actor Ritesh Deshmukh according to Marathi marriage traditions in a Hindu wedding ceremony followed by a Roman Catholic ceremony the next day.
