Asha Bhosle's granddaughter sings in 'Maaee' (Movie snippets)

New Delhi, May 15 (IANS) Legendary singer Asha Bhosle's granddaughter Zanai is set to make her singing debut in Mahesh Kadiyal's film 'Maaee'.

'One of the songs in film 'Maaee' has been sung by my granddaughter Zanai. Her first song in my film. Record release on Sept 8,' Asha wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

Interestingly, Asha is also making her acting debut with the film, which is about a woman abandoned by her only son who goes on to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Actress Padmini Kolhapure will be essaying the role of her daughter.

Veteran actor Dev Anand gave his best wishes to both grandmother and granddaughter for their debut venture.

'Ashaji my blessings to you and Zanai on your latest venture 'Maaee' and may Zanai could be as big and as great like you,' he tweeted.

Big B sings 'Ekla Cholo' in Sujoy Ghosh's 'Kahani'

Amitabh Bachchan is rejoicing the opportunity of singing Rabindranath Tagore's iconic song 'Ekla Cholo re' in director Sujoy Ghosh's new film 'Kahani', also starring Vidya Balan.

'May I just say that singing Rabindra Sangeet for the first time was the greatest revelation. The beauty of the language, the lyricism of the tune and its 'dhun' (music) are outstanding,' he wrote on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

'This particular, world famous number 'Ekla Cholo', expounding to all that if no one came to you on your calling, walk alone!! And what a fabulous song has been incorporated by Vishal-Shekhar. Truly awesome and worthy of all award.

'Singing for the track today you discover how inadequate you are to handle something created by Gurudev Tagore. Not just in words but also in its tune. It is by far one of the most unique compositions in the world of music. And being associated with it in some capacity has been nothing short of an honor,' he wrote.

Jiah Khan to change name?

Actress Jiah Khan is planning to change her name back to the original one, Nafisa.

The British-born Indian actress took to microblogging site Twitter to reveal her plans and wrote: 'Thinking of changing my name back to my original name Nafisa...what do you guys think? Needs some more opinions.'

The 23-year-old made her Bollywood debut with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in 'Nishabd' in 2007 and has done films like 'Housefull' and 'Ghajini'.
