About  Champion  (2000)



The story revolves around four principal characters. Sunny Deol (Rajveer Singh) is a suspended dare devil cop with aspersions of wiping out crime and winning loads of laurels and medals in the process. His dream goes for a toss when on reinstatement; he is assigned the task of protecting a 10 year old kid, Master Abhishek Sharma (Abbas), from somebody who the police is clueless about. But the cops are sure that Abbas's billionaire parents, killed in a tragic air crash, were victims of a conspiracy and as a result, the kids life is in danger. Little Abbas has only his handful of friends and Manisha Koirala (Sapna) for company besides of course his servants and business manager, who adore him. Sapna is a professional and successful model. Rajveer loathes his assignment as well as Abbas and Sapna. How they accept each other amidst song and laughter and manage to demolish the scare on Abbas's life, Rahul Dev (Nazir), forms the storyline.




The massive set of Abbas's home was specially constructed for the film at Ramoji Studios, Hyderabad, at a cost of Rs.80 Lakhs. Cinematography is by S. Thiru and the story and the direction is by Padam Kumar. The movie has been produced by Sujeet Kumar.



The description of the songs are as follows



Song 1 : Ek Ladki : Sung by Udit Narayan. This song has been picturised in the exotic locales of Mauritius. Choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, it has Sunny Deol and Manisha Koirala romancing each other. With some great camerawork the song has all the ingredients to make it a hummable and famous number.



Song 2 : Tu Kya Cheez Hai : Sung by Abhijeet & Kavita Krishnamurthy. Set against a rustic backdrop of Punjab, this song has been beautifully choreographed by the talented Ahmed Khan. The song is shot in a Dhaba and portrays Sunny's exuberance on getting his police posting in Mumbai. This he shares with all his village friends and hordes of truck drivers who take on the sexy Kashmira Shah and sing and dance and make merry.




Song 4 : Aisa Champion Kahan: Sung by Sunidhi Chauhan & Jaspinder Narula. Music is by Vishal and lyrics Nitin Raikwar. The title track is another sure shot winner. Choreographed by Ahmed Khan and picturised at Esselworld, Water Kingdom and Hiranandani Complex, the song would be an instant hit especially with the younger generation who will instantly take to its fast tune and catchy lyrics.



Song 5 : Na Baba Na Baba: Sung by Kavita Krishnamurthy, Shankar Mahadevan & Chorus. Picturised on a massive set specially erected for the song, it is an audio - visual treat with over 100 feet high ramps and over 200 halogen lights and choreography by the famous Raju Sundaram, each shot takes the viewer on a smooth roller coaster ride. Manisha Koirala looks stunning and with Raju's dancers gives us a winner. But, the highlight is the special pyrotechnics used in the song which are in perfect sync with both the audio and the visuals.




Song 7 : Jatt Lutya Gaya: Sung by Shankar Sahoni, Hema Sardesai Music & Lyrics: Anand Raj Anand With Punjabi pop being the rage today, this number has what it takes to top the charts immediately. What with excellent lyrics and composition by guest composer Anand Raj Anand. And to top that, it's our very own Sunny singing it, in the film. Choreography by Ganesh Acharya.



The movie releases worldwide on 27th October.
