When Jaya was studding her graduations in Jaipur (Raj), She never realized that her passion for dance 'n music is slowly guiding her towards a different (but somehow related to what she was studding) form of art called acting, though she always had a dream to became one but never knew how to proceed.
After completing her masters in Hindustani classical vocal music, Jaya did couple of TV shows like 'The Sword Of Tipu Sultan, The Great Maratha, Indradhanush to name a few on national and regional level. They all were all shot in Jaipur only. Jaya was also involved in some theatrical activities at the same time but again in Jaipur only.
After getting married she moved to Mumbai, 'the world of dreams' as the aspiring actors call it.
Thereafter paying full attention to her family and after a long gap of six – seven years, Jaya resumed her spell to find her own mark in this dream world. She joined the famous theater group known as 'Yatri' run by well known theater personality, Mr. Om Katare to rejuvenate her acting skills. Jaya has got opportunities to perform lot of shows in the famous theaters like Prithvi, TATA Memorial and NCPA. Some of her plays are Rajneeti, Mummy Please, Zara Inse Miliye, Had Kar Di Aapne, Rat Baaki Hai, Nakchdhi etc.
Now it was time to get into TV serials and Movies. By this time Jaya was confident enough and looking for some good break which she got in famous serial called SAI BABA, produced by legendry personality Late Ramanand Sagar aired on Star TV. She did seven episodes for them and performed so well that in reward she was immodestly called for one more serial from the same production house called 'Lucky' again aired on Star TV. Then the famous serial called Kum-Kum on Star TV, the one of the longest running serial known as C.I.D. on Sony TV and the journey is going on with Synergy Adlab's brand new TV serial 'ANGREZI MAIN KEHTE HAIN' in which Jaya is playing a leading role which is running throughout the story (almost 140 episodes) and the great 'RAMAYAN'in which she is playing Mandodari (Ravan's wife). These serials are already being aired on NDTV IMAGINE'.
Latest feather in her cap is 'MAIN KAB SAAS BANOONGI' being aired on SAB TV.
Though Jaya started with a small roll in Ken Ghosh's 'Chain Kuli Ki Main Kuli' to enter the world of big screen but immediately bagged an impressive roll in Kumar Mangat's 'Hall-e- Dil .
