Music Director Shamir Tandon who is mostly known for making serious music for realistic cinema, like- "Page3", "Traffic Signal" and "Corporate" and thought provoking subjects, has diversified into making dance number for Apurva Lakhia's "Mission Istambul" which is a collaboration with an international artist. Then he is making very stylized forays in Sanjay Gupta's "Acid Factory" from his deglamourized music for streets in "Traffic Signal". Apart from this his hands are full with a bunch of commercial films including comedies and thrillers-which can prove his versatility as a music director. When asked, he sounds very pleased- "as a music director we need to cater to requirements of our director and match the fabric of his film and its language has to match that of the bigger whole which is the film, like our yesteryears composers who last 3-4 decades like Kalyanji-Anandji to Laxmikant Pyaralal and RD. We need to mould ourselves to different needs of different situations and yet maintain our identity by adding our personal TADKA on every song". Versa-stylishly Shamir!
