Some good, some bad but this year has been filled with some very unique and jhakas titles for Bollywood films! We take you on a roller coaster ride through the top ten most uniquely titled films of 2008!
1.Money hai Toh Honey Hai
Only if this movie could have cashed in any money at the box office! A weirdly titled film, one wonders what the producers and directors of the film were thinking? Maybe we live in a materailistic world but Honey you have to have a good product (and sometimes also a good name for your film) to earn money! Unfortunately this was a movie that cashed in no money
2.Ugly Aur Pagli
The recent release movie starring Ranvir Shorey aka Ugly and Mallika Sherawat as Pagli, has a strange title indeed. The story is about a carefree guy whose whole
life completely changes when he meets a weird girl on a railway station. The girl
tries new-new ways to make his life hell and trouble him and yet the hero falls in love. Ugly Aur Pagli as a film made just as much sense as its title and guess what the box office collections of the film matched the title as they were truly ugly
Mere Baap Pehle Aap - what a unique title! And the movie is as unique as you see the roles of a father and son switch roles, a senior citizen remember his long lost love and a no sense film which leaves you wondering what has happened to Bollywood! A film that definitely will not appeal to the masses, as truly all the kids will tell their fathers mere baap pehle aap jaake picture dekh aaye
4 .Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama
Rama Rama Kya Hai Drama?? Whats this?? A completely out and out comedy on the twists and turns of a married life, the film is as hilarious as its title and both the title and the movie bring a smile on the audience's faces
5.Bhoothnath
Bhoothnath is a title which probably scared audiences away from theaters as the film didn't do as well as it could have done with a starcast like Amitabh Bachchan, Juhi Chawla, and Shah Rukh Khan (Special Appearance). Many dismissed the film thinking its a children's movie and maybe partly the title can be blamed for having kept the masses away from the film. As a film it was decent though you wonder why title the film Bhoothnath - its scaryyyy
6. Chandni Chowk to China
Chandani Chowk To China - you must be wondering what the heck, is that a title? This upcoming film is said to be the first Indian movie to be shot in China and is being Warner bros. Akshay and Deepika in the title roles make the journey from Chandni Chowk to China! The movie is said to be the semi- autobiographical as it is based on actor Akshay Kumar's life and was initially titled Mera Naam Chin Chin Choo. Now from all the towns in India - why Chandi Chowk? And from all the countries in the world, why China? Well maybe its back to English Class. Alliteration at its best, isn't it
7. Toonpur Ka Superhero
Now a days film makers seem to love to aim at the younger audiences. But as soon as you hear the film title of this upcoming movie Toonpur ka Superhero you wonder Tonpuuuurrrr, where's that, what's that? Well Toonpur is a place for toon (Cartoons). This is a 3D film with a lot of animation and Eros International has signed Kajol opposite her husband Ajay Devgan. The movie is about a reel-life hero, who accidentally lands in a world of cartoons and become a real life hero! India's First 3D and Live Action animation film for now offers a title that makes you laugh. The future of the film is yet to be seen....
8. Chintu Ji
If you aren't done laughing yet yes you have heard us right there is a film called Chintu Ji! An Eros film starring the one and only - you guessed it right - Rishi Kapoor! You wonder if Bollywood could get anymore creative as it now steals nicknames for movie titles! Maybe in the future we will see films like Bebo Ji, Lolo Ji, etc
9. Chamku
Who titles their film Chamku? Sounds like a kid's name but then I don't know what I would do if my name was Chamku? Maybe run and hide somewhere! Should Priyanka, Bobby and Ritesh do the same as their next film has this weird title and is clashing against many other films, which probably will not let it sustain at the box office. Yet who has seen destiny, lets just wait and watch...
10. Dhoom Dadakka
Pakao Dadakka! That's all you can say after watching this sleazy comedy with no sense! The title is completely out of sync with the movie and lacks substance just the way the film does! No meaning, no sense, all a bunch of nonsense!
