Ugly is Anurag Kashyap's fastest and toughest shot film

It would get very difficult to put the activities of the real location on a halt and complete the shoot. Hence the makers decided to use hidden cameras to capture most of the original scenes, especially, the ones that were shot from Bandra station and Lonavala.

Shooting at real locations is a different kind of task altogether, actors don't have the liberty to give as many retakes as they can on a set. So to decrease the number of retakes, actors had to give their best shot.

They shot for 14 hours a day to finish shooting at the earliest and completed shooting in flat 40 days.
