Bollywood has has always seemed to have a fondness for remaking films from down South, and this year is no different. Adding to the ranks of movies like Tere Naam, Ghajini, Sunday, Judwaa, Khushi, Khatta Meetha, Saathiya, Wanted and many more, Bollycurry presents you the five upcoming remakes :

1. Ready to Bodyguard

Salman Khan's next release Bodyguard may be one of the most awaited remakes. The original movie entitled Ready had the Andhra actor Ram and Genelia D'Souza portraying the lead roles. A film full of entertainment, with the right amount of comedy, action and good music, the remake will have Asin and the most wanted Salman as the leads. The filming will start in December and it's expected to hit the floors around June 2011.

2. Kaakha Kaakha (Untitled)

Originally starring the real life pair Surya and Jyotika, the hindi version will have John Abraham and Genelia D'Souza, if the buzz is to be believed. Still untitled, the shooting is already in progress for the movie; it is said that it started somewhere around the first week of September. The movie is directed by Nishikant Kamat and is produced by Vipul Shah, who was recommended to postpone Dostana -2 and rather work for the KK remake first.

3 Bommarillu to It's My Life

After Paa, the Bachchan father-son duo will be back on-screen together for the remake of the Telugu blockbuster Bommarillu, which was directed by debutant Bhaskar. The Genelia-Siddharth starrer was a huge success at the Box Office and won many accolades. It's My Life

is produced by Boney Kapoor and Sridevi with Nitin Kapoor as the co-produces. After playing the same role in the Tamil version, Genelia will once again portray the bubbly Haasini in the Hindi version as well, this time opposite Jr. Bachchan.

4. Bodyguard (Untitled)

Directed by Siddique, the Malayalam film Bodyguard was a hit this year in Kerala. The Dileep-Nayantara starrer will now be remade in three more languages. As for the Hindi version, it will most probably feature Salman Khan opposite Kareena Kapoor and will be produced by Atul Agnihotri. However, the movie is still in the early adaptation stages. Atul has even confirmed that the script of the movie is currently undergoing changes to be adapted to the Bollywood version. He went on to say that Salman Khan was the male lead; however, chose to remain mum about the female lead options. And as director, will be Siddique from the original, what better can we have!

5. Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya (Untitled)

With the huge success of Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya and its Telugu version Ye Maaya Chesavo, director of the same Gautham Menon is all set to repeat history again in Bollywood by not only directing the Hindi version, but also producing it. While the Tamil version had Kollywood's heartthrob Simbhu and the Khatta Meetha girl Trisha in the lead roles, Ranbir Kapoor is the first choice to replace Simbhu. As for the music, A.R.Rahman is supposedly retaining the same tunes with some new additions to the overall soundtrack.
