Children writing fantasy stories are known around the world. But a nine year old girl, writing about her journey doesn't that sound odd? After all, her life must not even have started! But, if you knew Rubina Ali, then you wouldn't be surprised.
Rubina Ali, known all around
the world as young Latika, the love interest of the multi-Oscar winner "Slumdog
Millionaire", has turned a new chapter in her nine years of life. She is
writing her autobiography, rightly called "Slumdog
Dreams: My Journey to the Stars". In the book she will be talking about how
she rose from a slum-girl playing marbles with friends and dancing to
chartbusters in front of the old television in her dilapidated home in Garib
Nagar in Mumbai, to a star in her own right, delighting the whole world with
her endearing smile and sweet charm. The story, although, is not without its
set of drama. First, there was news of her father trying to sell her to a couple
and then her house being run down by the local municipalities and rending her
homeless.

usually sweet and funny and imaginative. They live in their own beautiful
fantasy world not very different from "Terabithias" and "Narnias" and "Hogwarts".
