As we enter the auspicious month of September, where the whole of India celebrates the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, Bollywood once again decides to wave its magic wand. In between the celebrations, loud music and laughter, Bollywood adds a sprinkle of fairy dust to the magical time by releasing several amazing movies. Today, BollyCurry will give you a glimpse of some of the films that will hit the screens this month.
Baar Baar Dekho, a movie set to release on the 9th of September takes away all the firsts. Not only will this movie be the first collaboration of Excel Entertainment with Dharma Productions, but it will also mark the directorial debut of
Nitya Mehra, who previously assisted Farhan Akthar in
Lakshya (2006) and
Don (2004). Apart from that, said movie will feature the effervescent
Katrina Kaif and handsome
Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles, who also happen to be sharing the screen space for the very first time.
Baar Baar Dekho is a unique love story which travels through time and unfolds through a series of flash backs and flash forwards. Given that the movie is a romance spanning 30 odd years, the film is bound to be heart touching and an absolute treat for the die-hard romance fanatics.
Raaz Reboot is the fourth instalment of the horror franchise of
Raaz. Set in a Romanian backdrop, the movie will feature
Emraan Hashmi and Kirti Kharbanda in lead roles and is directed by
Vikram Bhatt. The movie is dated to release on 16th of September, and is said to be a remake of the Hollywood movie,
The Omen, which was a hit in 1976. The poster that has necklaces with blood dripping from it, a horror face and a tagline that says "Secrets are the enemy of love" sure sends chills down the spine. The thrilling trailers and the haunting melodies insinuate that this particular movie is a must watch.
The
Amitabh Bachchan starrer
Pink will hit the silver screens on 16th September, alongside the aforementioned
Raaz Reboot. This Bollywood venture will be directed by Bengali Filmmaker Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by
Shoojit Sircar and
Rashmi Sharma.
Pink will be an Indian courtroom drama-thriller film wherein Mr. Bachchan will be portraying a character of a lawyer suffering from a bipolar disorder, who goes through extreme changes in mood. The other leads of the film include the beautiful
Taapsee Pannu and
Kirti Kulhari. Ensure that you mark this day on your calendar as this movie has all the elements of being a box office hit.
Another upcoming movie that is geared up for its release on 23rd September is
Banjo. Directed by
Ravi Jadhav and produced by
Krishika Lulla under the Eros International banner,
Banjo will have an onscreen romance between
Riteish Deshmukh and the charming,
Nargis Fakhri. The movie will be a musical drama revolving around a banjo player and a DJ. So for all the music lovers, movie lovers and fun lovers, this movie might just be up your alley.
M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story
M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story will hit the screens on the last day of September. This movie is a biopic of the legendary Indian Cricket Team captain M. S. Dhoni, whose character will be portrayed by
Sushant Singh Rajput. Directed by
Neeraj Pandey and produced by Fox Star Studios, this movie will showcase the struggles of our ace cricketer to reach great heights. This must watch biopic is all set to give a perfect closure to the perfect month.
The month of September seems to have many incredible movies lined up amidst celebrations to make this festive season all the more appealing.
