Remember the good old days during the late 1990s and early 2000s when actors such as
Shahid Kapoor,
Amrita Rao,
John Abraham and others appeared on your TV screen in a music video? Slowly, as time went on, these music videos started declining until the trend gave way to movies and Indian TV serials. Music became relegated to the ears with music videos being a part of the rap, Punjabi, or other such industries. However, 2015 brought a rather new and interesting change to the music video industry, it brought Bollywood actors and music videos together again. Read on below to find out which actor has teamed up with which artist to bring us a musical spectacular.

In May 2015,
Atif Aslam,
Tiger Shroff and director
Ahmed Khan burnt the dance floor with "Zindagi Aa Raha Hoon Main", a story of enjoying life to the fullest. It told the young generation to never give up and announce that they are here, in a way breathing new life into them. With the energetic
Tiger Shroff, the soulful
Atif Aslam and the renowned choreographer-director
Ahmed Khan, this number touched the hearts of many, made the top 10 charts for many weeks, and went on to cross one million views in just under four days.
Tiger Shroff was appreciated for his amazing dance skills and
Atif Aslam, as always, made people stand up and take notice.
Two months later,
Tiger Shroff returned with

director
Ahmed Khan. This time he was joined by his
Heropanti co-star
Kriti Sanon and singer
Arijit Singh with the soulful, slow, romantic number "Chal Wahan Jaate Hain". The single is about two youngsters who fall in love but realize that they won't be able to be together. Through this song they talk about going to a place where love will be accepted.
Arijit Singh's melodious voice brought this lovely track to life whilst
Ahmed Khan once again took to the camera. Many critics and viewers appreciated
Arijit Singh,
Tiger Shroff and
Kriti Sanon highly and loved the direction of this beautiful number.

At the end of August, Greek God Hrithik Roshan and Fashionista
Sonam Kapoor appeared together in a romantic partial adaptation of
Aashiqui's hit number "Dheere Dheere Se". Yo Yo
Honey Singh lent his voice and
Ahmed Khan once again took on the directorial and choreography hat. The song is about billionaire Roshan who falls in love with the
aam ladki Kapoor. The song reached high levels of success in just four days with over five million views. However, despite its high success, Singh's vocals were criticized by viewers and critics alike, though the cackling chemistry between Kapoor and Roshan made up for much of this.
On November 23, 2015,
Jannat 2 and
Raaz 3
co-stars
Emraan Hashmi and
Esha Gupta came together in "Main Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon". Directed by
Amit Sharma, the song is sung by
Armaan Malik whilst the music direction by
Amaal Mallik. In just four days, the song crossed over two million views. The video told of an unspoken love that David, played by Hashmi, has for his friend, played by Gupta, but is unable to tell her about it. The video was highly appreciated for the chemistry, story line,
Armaan Malik's emotional voice and the sparkling chemistry between Hashmi and Gupta.

The following day,
Shilpa Shetty Kundra appeared in the interesting single "Wedding Da Season" directed and choreographed by
Ganesh Acharya, sung by
Neha Kakkar and
Mika Singh, with
Amaal Mallik once again in the music director seat. This single has Shetty showing off her dance moves to this Punjabi-Marathi number with
Neha Kakkar and
Ganesh Acharya joining in. In just three days, the song crossed 700,000 hits. Critics and viewers have appreciated the number highly, though many have the same thing to say about the lyrics, suggesting that it uses "keywords" more than proper lyrics.
As the era of music videos returns, it is rather remarkable to note that a new single released starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam and one has already been announced starring Sooraj Pancholi and Jacqueline Fernandes, titled "GF". It remains to be seen how this single will turn out and how it will be accepted by viewers and critics alike. All BollyCurry can say is we welcome back music videos with open arms and hope they can enjoy the same success as they did about a decade back.
