Best birthday wishes
ever is what BollyCurry is giving the singing sensations
Shreya Ghoshal and
Atif Aslam on their special day today.
Shreya Ghoshal is a
name that needs no introduction. She was born on 12
th March
1984 to Bengali parents, Biswajit Ghoshal, an electrical engineer by
profession and Sarmistha Ghoshal, a post graduate in Literature.

Having
achieved a milestone in her musical career, Ghoshal has just started her
marital life with her childhood sweetheart Shiladitya Mukhopadhayaya on 5
th Februray
2015. Blessed enough by the grace of the Almighty, her professional career got
recognition when she came to Mumbai with her family in 1997. Ghoshal's mother
gave her the first lesson of music when she was just four years old. At such a
tender age she had already started learning Hindi classical music and Bengali
vocal music. This was the reason why despite being a Science student she
was more inclined towards music and cultural activities during her college
days.
She is a linguistic
singer trained in various languages as well. These include Hindi, Bengali,
Assamese, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam and Oriya. Ghoshal
recorded her first song in Marathi for the cover version of "Ganraya Rangi
Nachato". Her first few albums were
Bendhechhi Beena (1998),
O
Tota Pakhi Re,
Ekti Katha (1999) and
Mukhor Porag (2000),
all in the Bengali language. In her teens, she was declared the winner at
Sa
Re Ga Ma three times; last one being the 200th episode in January
1999. The mentors/judges present were speechless after witnessing such a talent
on-stage. This talent show paved way for Ghoshal's entry into Bollywood.
Director-producer
Sanjay Leela Bhansali was in search of an innocent voice for
the playback of character Paro in the movie
Devdas (2002). And
Shreya Ghoshal was the
perfect choice; he approached her and gave her the much needed wings to fly
high in the sky of success and fame. She was only sixteen when she recorded
"Bairi Piya" with musical maestro
Udit Narayan, for the movie
Devdas. She
became a household name for her enchanting voice at such a young age. Her
song "Sun Raha Hai Naa Tu" from the movie
Aashiqui 2 (2013) and "Nagada Sang Dhol" from
Goliyon ki Raasleel Ram-leela (2013)
gained immense
appreciation.
Countless awards in
her baggage, she is the proud owner of numerous National awards, Filmfare
awards and Filmfare South awards. Her first ever Bollywood song earned her the
National Film Award for Best Singer Female. Shreya is privileged since the
United States of Ohia declared 26
th June as the
Shreya
Ghoshal Day for honouring her.
Shreya Ghoshal has also managed to carve
her name in the Forbes list of Top 100 Celebrities of India.
Atif Aslam, the man
with a mesmerizing voice, a charming face and a physique to die for; is also
turning a year older. Born as Muhammad
Atif Aslam, he is a
pop cum rock singer, a dancer and an actor by profession. He married the love of
his life Sara Bharwana in the year 2013.
Aslam has managed to
come to Bollywood industry all the way from Pakistan to charm Indian audiences
and listeners. He made his debut with the Pakistani movie
Bol (2011).
Aslam has given several top romantic tracks for the movies and the pop albums
in both the countries and he has graced few film songs by his on-screen performance
for special tracks. His Bollywood list includes "Tere Bin",
"Pehli Nazar Mein", "Aa Bhi Ja Sanam", "Piya O Re
Piya", "Tu Mohabbat Hai", "Be Intehaa" and the most
recent hit "Jeena Jeena" from the blockbuster movie
Badlapur
(2015) featuring
Varun Dhawan on-screen.
