More and more Bollywood celebrities are turning to social networking
sites, not just to connect with their fans, their friends and family,
but also to raise awareness for various movements and causes. One of the
most popular social networking sites they turn to is Twitter, and we at
BollyCurry realize that not all our readers have the time to maintain
an account or follow these popular celebs, which is why we have come up
with
What's Tweeting?, where we shall update you on how interestingly our Bollywood celebrities take their tweeting job!
#BeWithBeti @anuranjan1010 @Akansharanjan @anushka0110
Twitter
and other social media sites were recently flooded with images of stars
showing their support for the Be With Beti Campaign, which had been
started as a stand against female infanticide. Over the years, the
campaign has spread massive awareness, and even branched out to lend
help to the victims of acid attacks, domestic violence and other such
atrocities.
Alia Bhatt was one of those stars who stood with them and these pictures have gone viral. (Other stars such as
Varun Dhawan,
Neil Nitin Mukesh and
Vaani Kapoor have taken to their Twitter and Instagram accounts as well.) Here's hoping that more and more people choose to take this stand.
Anxiety, Depression and Panic Attacks are not a sign of weakness. They are signs of trying to remain strong for way too long.
As the year 2014 came to a close,
Deepika Padukone opened up about
the depression she suffered, and has taken a stand in advocating for
mental health awareness. On December 31st, she tweeted a series of
tweets in order to highlight the suffering of those going through mental
health issues and urged them to believe that they were not alone. She
will be working towards improving the mental health scenario in India
throughout the year, and already has brought a team on board. She also
tweeted that she will be dedicating the year to supporting mental health
awareness. All we can say is, good luck Deepika, and we wish you all
the best.
we have no need to wrap 12 strands of hair around her head to pretend
that we are not bald just delusional #WhyWomenAreBetterThanMen
The hashtag #WhyWomenAreBetterThanMen is full of people either being
serious or factitious, but we have to say,
Twinkle Khanna takes the cake
with her few tweets on the subject. Her twitter is full of sarcasm and
tongue-in-cheek humor and gems such as the above tweet are just the tip
of the iceberg. We don't know why she is not doing stand-up, when she is
obviously quite the witty one. But we are definitely going to keep
following her!
Many more of your favorite Bollywood celebrities have taken to
Twitter in the past few months to share their thoughts, their upcoming
projects and their causes with their followers. However, it is not
possible for us to share them all with you, as there is always the word
restriction! We would like to know which Bollywood celebrity you think
has the most illuminating and interesting tweets? Who will you never
unfollow? Who is the funniest? Comment below and let us know your
favorite.
