Birthdays are
one of the happiest times of the year, for not only the birthday boy and girl,
but also for all those who are related in one way or the other. It is not an
uncommon sight to see fans turn to festivities when their favourite stars
celebrate their big day. Today, BollyCurry is here to wish the brilliant and
debonair
Sushant Singh Rajput, who rules numerous hearts, old and young
alike.
Born on
January 21, 1986, the Patna-lad stepped into the glamour world as a student of
the celebrated choreographer
Shiamak Davar. He started off as a background
dancer for Davar's troupe and also did theatre in the early stages of his
career, after which he took a big leap and never looked back. In 2008, his
glorious television career kick-started with Balaji Telefilms'
Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil; but his real
claim to fame came in 2008 in the form of the soap opera
Pavitra
Rishta, in which he portrayed the guy-next-door, Manav, which made him a
household name. After a simultaneous stint in dance shows, Rajput moved away
from television to try his luck in B-Town.
Rajput's big
break on the silver screen came with
Abhishek Kapoor's drama
Kai Po Che! (2013), the movie which bagged him a 3-film contract
with the renowned Yashraj Productions. Based on
Chetan Bhagat's novel
The 3 Mistakes of My Life, the movie
opened doors of appreciation for him, as he received critical acclaim for
his acting. His second movie,
Shuddh Desi
Romance (2013)
, which was a romantic-comedy not
only performed well at the box-office, but it also added to his glory as an actor.
Rajput's latest occurrence in
Rajkumar Hirani's satirical comedy-drama
P.K. (2014), as the Pakistani Sarfaraz, has been whole-heartedly
received by all and sundry. He seems to have an indescribable and pleasant screen
presence that seems to have a soothing effect on the audiences.
Rajput's list
of upcoming projects is quite awe inspiring. He is all set to play
the titular role in
Dibakar Banerjee's crime thriller
Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, scheduled to release later this year.
He is also slated to star in Neeraj
Pandey's biographical titled
M.S. Dhoni:
The Untold Story, Homi Adijania's untitled next, and Shekhar Kapoor's
Paani.
Here are selected numbers from Rajput's songlist to celebrate his birthday:
4. "Tere
Mere Beech Mein" - Shuddh Desi
Romance (2013)
5. "Chaar
Kadam" - P.K. (2014)
In a short span of time, Rajput has
managed to win many hearts. The secret behind his success
is his persona, that leaves audiences swooning over him, and his impeccable
talent. BollyCurry shall take this moment to wish him great triumph in all his
endeavours, and also to that special member of BollyCurry who shares her
birthday with Rajput, and happens to be one of the editors of this article.
