There are people without whom Bollywood would have never
reached the immensity it currently boasts of, Indian cinema would have
never seen this rapid increase in population and the big screen would've
lost its impeccable charm. They are the Debutants, for they are the
reason the film industry keeps getting bigger whilst bringing forth new
faces, new skills, new love stories, new drama, new genres of films and
the list goes on. This year of 2015 is no exception; while some are
ready to take the back seat and enjoy life off-screen, some are
excitedly waiting to make their debut on the big screen and herald a new
chapter in their life. With this, BollyCurry brings to you this memo of
a few handpicked Debutants of 2015.
Beginning
the list is the ever so handsome and talented
Karan Singh Grover.
Grover began his life on the small screen as a soap-opera actor and
garnered popularity amongst audiences through the hit medical drama
Dill Mill Gayye and the dramatic love story in a Muslim backdrop of
Qubool Hai. Grover is all set to prove his mettle in Bollywood with director
Bhushan Patel's upcoming horror flick
Alone,
opposite
Bipasha Basu. The story tells the tale of two conjoined twin
sisters, who promise to always be by each others side, until one of them
dies. Years later her ghost self is back to haunt the living sister, to
seek revenge for the broken promise. With the film's music and trailer
already becoming the hot talk of the town and getting Grover fans
excited with anticipation,
Alone is expected to dazzle the silver
screen on January 16. The answer to whether Grover shall manage to make
his presence known and outshine the others is eagerly being awaited by
all and sundry.
Next
on the list is the dashing and gifted
Gurmeet Choudhary. This skilled
dancer made his appearance on many dance reality shows and has been a
part of many Indian soap operas. His biggest successes to date have
included the dramas
Geet - Hui Sabse Parayi and
Punar Vivah.
Choudhary has gotten the big ticket to Bollywood and will be making his
debut on January 30th with Mahesh and
Mukesh Bhatt's erotic thriller
Khamoshiyan.
The film narrates the story of a writer who accidentally stumbles
across a woman who has a very dark past, all in the beautiful locale of
Kashmir. Rumor has it that Choudhary is going to switch up his hero
image and play the antagonist in the movie. We do hope the risky debut
works in his favor and he adds to his large fan base! Alongside him is
debutante
Sapna Pabbi and the known actor
Ali Fazal.
This
talented and beautiful actress has made quite a name for herself in the
TV industry and is hoping to do the same in B-Town this year. She
stepped into the world of glamor at a young age and has a myriad of
popular shows to her credit including
Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Dill Mill Gayye and
Saraswatichandra. Her debut will be opposite director-turned-actor
Kunal Kohli in the film
Phir Se,
which is set to hit theaters in May this year. The movie has managed to
create a lot of hype amongst fans, what with the beautiful outdoor
locations and the bright new look of the actress. The result of Kolhi's
shift from behind-the-scenes to the front of the camera is yet to be
seen!
Akshara Hassan
Following
her family legacy, Kamal Hassan's second daughter Akshara Hassan is
all ready to set the screen ablaze this year. After working behind the
camera for a long time as an assistant director, Haasan is foraying into
the acting world with her debut in R. Balki's upcoming venture titled
Shamitabh,
alongside
Amitabh Bachchan and
Dhanush in lead roles. While Bachchan is
already being cited to be all praises of the young lass, we do hope
that news about her giving the contemporaries a run for their money is
indeed true.
Harshvardhan
Kapoor, the son of actor-producer
Anil Kapoor and brother of
actress-cum-fashionista
Sonam Kapoor is stepping onto the ladder of
Bollywood via director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's dream project
Mirziya. He
shall be working opposite another debut actress, Saiyami Kher, who also
has an acting lineage. The story is based upon the age long folklore
showcasing the tragic story of Mirza and Sahibaan. The movie is said to
be a wonderful love story that viewers will be eager to watch as much as
the director is keen on having it on the big screen. Let's see how well
the Kapoor lad is able to portray this challenging role!
Along with these, there are a few other people who are making their debuts, including
Nathalia Kaur in
Rocky Handsome,
Vikas Kumar in
Prithipal Singh...A Story,
Sooraj Pancholi in
Hero (Remake) and
Athiya Shetty in
Hero (Remake).
We,
here at BollyCurry, send our best wishes to these actors who are
embarking on a new journey to stardom and laud the ones who are climbing
