BollyCurry gathers with fans today to celebrate the birthday of a very good looking VJ turned actor, Aditya Roy Kapur!

Born on 16th November 1985 to a Punjabi father and a Jewish mother, Roy Kapur studied at G.D. Somani Memorial School and then graduated from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai. Roy Kapur's eldest brother is Siddharth Roy Kapur, the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures and happily married to the gorgeous, Vidya Balan. His other elder brother is Kunaal Roy Kapur, who is also an actor.

Junior Roy Kapur began his career as a VJ on Channel V where he became an instant hit due to his comic timing and unique style of hosting. He debuted in Bollywood with London Dreams (2009) alongside B-Town's biggies, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. His breakthrough movie was 2013's massive hit Aashiqui 2 opposite Shraddha Kapoor. He earned rave reviews and several awards, including the 2013 BIG Star Entertainment Award for Best Actor in a Romantic Role for his performance as a declining alcoholic singer. He was also seen in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013) in a side lead role, which also earned him much praise from critics and viewers as well as the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor. The year 2014 has only seen him in Dawaat-e-Ishq. While his role was appreciated, the movie did not do well at the box office.

Roy Kapur currently has Abhishek Kapoor's Fitoor, an adaptation of Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations", alongside Katrina Kaif and Rekha. He also has Tigmanshu Dhulia's Milan Talkies opposite his Aashiqui 2 costar, Shraddha Kapoor.
