BollyCurry is back
to bring its readers an edition of the 'Merci Beaucoup' Day (in plain
English,
the Thank-You Day!) Many tinsel-town celebrities have fairy tale like
stories where they've gone from rags-to-riches! While some were born
with silver spoons gracing their
mouths, others were not. But all said and done, there are a few people
who've been the
contributing factor in the name and fame earned by many. Let's take a
swift
glance at the people who've been nothing but selfless and played a major
role in the successful lives of our favorite celebrities!
Deepika Padukone
may have made a grand debut in the industry with
Om Shanti Om (2007), but ever since then her career graph saw
great downfall except for a few successful movies once in a blue moon. A major reason for
this was Padukone's 'girl next door' image in all her movies. It
wasn't until
Imtiaz Ali suggested the charming gal test her mettle by choosing the
role of Veronica over Meera in
Cocktail (2012), that she was able
to free herself of the metaphorical cage the industry had locked her
into.
Veronica's character brought out the hidden streak and pushed Deepika to
step out of her comfort zone, enacting someone out of her league. That
is when the
film-makers saw the powerhouse of talent in her and her career graph
finally
hit the uphill, all thanks to Ali.
Often, film-makers prefer to pursue the elements that
would guarantee success for a movie
- be it repeating the couple that shone through in their last movie or
the
music director who just gave the best song of the year.
Aditya Chopra,
however, is a
man who takes a leap of faith in the newer lot and believes in moving
past the status quo of B-Town film makers. Chopra has a history of
launching newcomers, specifically those who didn't make it to the
approval list of many other
veteran directors. Those very newcomers are now well established actors.
To name a few, Anushka
Sharma,
Ranveer Singh,
Parineeti Chopra and
Arjun Kapoor are among them.
The man who saw extra ordinary in ordinary is whom such celebrities owe
their success to!
Varun Dhawan and
Alia Bhatt could've easily stepped into Bollywood with the help of their commendable
fathers who are the creme de la creme of the industry. Yet the duo chose
not to make a debut from their home productions, but it was
Karan Johar who
helped them make an ever lasting impression on the viewers. The duo along with
Sidharth Malhotra experienced the grandeur and magnificence of school life through
Johar's directorial venture
Student Of
The Year (2012). The movie was an instant hit and the trio garnered
overnight success, the foremost credit for which goes to Johar.
The lesser known
fact about
Shraddha Kapoor is that the actress had acted in
Teen Patti (2010) and
Luv Ka The End (2011) before making it
big through
Aashiqui 2 (2013).
Similarly,
Aditya Roy Kapur had tasted disappointment in the form of
London Dreams (2009),
Action Replayy (2010) and
Guzaarish (2010)
before he finally
struck the right chord. Director
Mohit Suri, launched the two Kapoors in
his film as the leads, becoming their ladder to success.
Aashiqui 2 went on to becoming one of the best romantic films of that year!
Last but not the
least is the Macho Man of Bollywood,
Salman Khan. The talented actor
tops the list as he has countless
people that are grateful to him for his help, support and encouragement.
He has been said to set numerous people
on the path of acting who were far from the thought of entering the
glamorous world. He has
launched many actresses opposite him and provided them a once in a life
time opportunity by ensuring shared screen space with the d
abbang Khan! A few people who should be sending
Thank-You cards to Khan today are,
Katrina Kaif,
Sonakshi Sinha,
Himesh Reshammiya,
Arjun Kapoor, Sajid-Wajid, Zarine Khan, Sana Khan,
Daisy Shah and Mudassar
Khan.
Bollywood is full of people who either need to
thank
someone, or be thanked themselves. At this auspicious day, we invite all
of
them to make an effort and take the first step at expressing their
gratitude. We at BollyCurry, would like to thank our lovely readers who
continue to motivate us! With
this, we sign off until the next time when we shall be back with
an equally interesting read. You all are welcome to come and share your
opinions on who deserves to be thanked for their actions.
