Today
BollyCurry along with all the fans, celebrates the birthday of well-known film and TV
actor,
Aditya Srivastava.
Born on 21
st
July 1968, Srivastava turns 46 today. While much is not known about his
personal life, his career speaks for itself. After studying at Allahabad
University, Srivastava moved to Delhi in 1989. He joined the Sri Ram Center of
Performing Arts and began appearing in theatre plays. Shekhar Kapoor
gave Srivastava his first break in Bollywood with the role of Puttilal in
Bandit Queen (1994). After this role, he
moved to Mumbai (1995) where he played many minor episodic roles including
Byomkesh Bakshi as well as appearing in
many promos and ads. He further acted in an episode of
Rishtey called
Highway
directed by Imitiaz Ali, which was remade into the 2014 Bollywood movie
Highway. Srivastava has starred in many movies
such as
Satya (1998),
Dil Se (1998),
Saathiya (2002),
Ek Hasina
Thi (2003),
Black Friday (2004),
Lakshya (2004),
Deewaar (2004),
Dil Se Pooch
Kidhar Jaana Hai (2006),
Gulaal (2009),
and
Kaalo (2010).
Dil Se Pooch Kidhar Jaana Hai (2006) was Srivastava's first lead
role and although it failed to impress moviegoers, critics applauded him for his
performance. His second lead role was in
Kaalo
(2010) which was appreciated by both viewers and critics alike, and he was
applauded once again for his role of Sameer. The movie
Gulaal of 2009, ran successfully across the International Film
Festivals Circuit and it was one of the reasons he became known both at home
and abroad.
Apart from venturing into movies Srivastava
is well known for one other reason: his role of Senior Inspector Abhijeet in the
popular Sony TV show C.I.D., which
has been airing for the past 16 years. In 1999, he was offered the role for an
initial contract for 26 episodes. However, his role and the show was loved so
much that his long association began with the show. Over the years, his fans
have only increased in number as the show gains new viewership everyday.
Today, on
his birthday, we bring to you a small playlist of some songs that Srivastava
has appeared in:
- "Meri
Humnashi" - Dil Se Pooch Kidhar Jaana Hai
- "Bharam
Bhaap" - Black Friday
- "Arambh

- "CID

a very Happy Birthday. We at BollyCurry hope that he continues to wow
