Today is the birthday of an actor who seems to be the complete package featuring great comic timing, killer dance moves, the perfect 'hero' attitude and power-packed acting talent. He is a student cum hero. Yes, today is the birthday of the newest heartthrob, Varun Dhawan!
Born on 24th April, 1987 to popular film director David Dhawan and wife Karun Dhawan, Dhawan
has an older brother - Rohit Dhawan, who is a Bollywood director. He has a Business Management degree from Nottingham Trent University in UK.
Dhawan began his career in Bollywood as an assistant director with Karan Johar on his 2010 hit film My Name Is Khan, along with Sidharth Malhotra. Johar then cast Dhawan in his 2012 movie Student of the Year, which kick-started his career and earned him a substantial fan following, especially of the female gender. His debut performance was much appreciated, earning him numerous award nominations and even fetching him the Lions Gold Award for Favorite Debut (Male) and the Stardust Award for Breakthrough Performance - Male. On April 4th, his second movie, Main Tera Hero, released which showcased his action and comic skills. He has also started shooting for his second 2014 film, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, opposite his Student of the Year co-star, Alia Bhatt.
It is rumored that Dhawan has been approached for AnyBody Can Dance 2, the sequel to ABCD - Anybody Can Dance. However, nothing is confirmed as of yet.
Dhawan is not just active as an actor, but also supports several charitable organizations, featured in Dabboo Ratnani's calendar, and has performed at many stage shows. He also performed at a special event along with other Bollywood stars to raise funds for the victims affected in the flood in Uttarakhand.
