BollyCurry
shines it's light on the newest debutante, Superstar of Tomorrow, Arjun
Kapoor, in this edition of Celebrity in the Spotlight.
Kapoor,
born on 26th June 1985, one of the children of the film producer Boney
Kapoor and Mona Shourie Kapoor, while being the nephew of Anil and
Sanjay Kapoor - the duo; actor and producer, hence a cousin to Sonam
Kapoor, the actress and Rhea Kapoor, the film producer. Anshula Kapoor
is his sister along with two step-sisters from Boney's second marriage.
Arjun began his career as an assistant director in 2003 for
Kal Ho Naa Ho and
Salaam-E-Ishq in 2007. His original debut film,
Virus Diwan, was shelved from being released, hence
Ishaqzaade became his hit-debut film alongside Parineeta Chopra, the cousin of the one and only Priyanka 'Piggy' Chopra. After
Ishaqzaade, he was seen in
Aurangzeb,
which failed to garner the public attention. Seeing his extended Kapoor
family influence, we are sure the young lad had not much to struggle
for, whereby one of his beginning directorial post was in the same movie
as his uncle,
Anil Kapoor; followed by producing movies with his
father.
His upcoming projects include
Gunday and
2 States along with the English film
Finding Fanny Fernandez opposite
Deepika Padukone and Hindi remake of Telugu movie
Okkadu,
with
Sonakshi Sinha as his co-star. Apart of all the acting, producing
and directing, he has also tried his hands on hosting for Star Guild
Awards and has walked the ramp for Manish Malhotra and Shabana Azmi
while being a show-stopper for Kunal Rawal.
Did You Know:
- Arjun is less than three weeks younger than Sonam Kapoor.
- Sridevi is his step-mother who makes sure to care for all the four kids.
- Arjun once, five years ago, tied Rakhi on the doll Katrina Kaif, making them Rakhi-siblings!
- Kapoor co-produced No Entry and Wanted.
- He is ranked one of the top 30 Most Desirable Men in Indian industry, 2012 and best dressed.
We, at BollyCurry, hope for a continued shining and glamorous career ahead for this aspiring rising star,
Arjun Kapoor.
