Have
you ever concentrated on a movie's background? The beaches with
delicate sand and clear blue water, the hero-heroine passing luscious
greenery or mountains topped with ice peaks and layers of snow as far as
the eye can see? As important as the storyline is, the destination
plays an underrated part in moving the plot along as well.
This
month's theme is 'heat', and when we think about heat, vacations is the
first word that comes to our minds. Therefore, BollyCurry brings to you
selected movies where actors are shown going on a holiday. So read on
and let your imaginations holiday.
Dilwale
Dulhania Le Jayenge - The perfect tale of love. One trip that changed
everything. What would be more perfect than a romantic holiday in
Switzerland, just like in the movie, where two strangers meet in a
foreign country and fall in love. Imagine romancing on top of a snowy
mountain alps, or driving through Switzerland's green farms while
looking into your loved one's eyes. Throw in a several days at cozy
resorts and a camp outside and we're set. Just like
Shah Rukh Khan
playing the role of Raj and Simran played by
Kajol Devgn did. After this
evergreen movie was released, Switzerland became a hot vacation spot for
lovers, boosting the countries tourist economy. Visit the timeless
Switzerland and get lost in your loved ones arms.
Dil
Chahta Hai - The tale of three bachelors going on a trip to Goa. All
three single and an ocean of girls to choose from. Goa is the home of
the best beaches in the world and is undoubtedly one of the hottest
vacations spots you can find. Along with that, you also have the Chapora
fort, also known as the
Dil Chahta Hai fort, which rose to fame after
the film was released and got subsequently renamed.
This
was a vacation that change the lives of the three young men in this
movie essayed by
Aamir Khan,
Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna. To calm
their anger and nerves and for time alone to think, this was the perfect
place where the constant swooshing of the waves as the water kissed the
shore shared their sentiments. The location was the perfect spot to
show the end of the party life for these single men who return to their
home just as the sun sets.
Dhoom 2 - Dhoom 2 was
the first Bollywood movie to have been shot in Rio De Janerio, Brazil.
But along with Brazil, the cast had gone to shoot in other hot locations
including, Namibia and Durban in Africa as well as Mumbai in India,
which had been extremely scorching. Light brown sand that feels so soft
under your feet, and the crystal blue water that tempts you to take a
dip was how half of the cast had entered the movie. Along with the
bright sun, the moonlit nights captured the beauty of nature at it's
rawness as well. The film showcased many activities, rapidly increasing
the popularity of roller-blading, sand boarding and snow boarding.
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara - The film was
the
road trip of a lifetime where three friends reunite after years to
embark on a road trip in Spain. Three destinations of their choice and
one adventurous trip that made them face their deepest fears. Four
cities including Costa Brava, Seville, Valencia and Pamplona were
visited in three short weeks. As they cruise by the sunny roads of
Spain, you can just look back and feel the heat. They land up on a beach
in Costa Brava, where they go deep sea diving. The sea blue water, and
the life of the underwater just makes you dream away, making a certain
calmness fill you. The friends make a stop for the Tomatina festival
(tomato fight purely for fun) in Bunyol, Valencia before they move onto
the next city, Seville, where they go sky diving. Up they go, between
the clouds, and you see Seville as a whole and finally falling right
into the arms of the city. The last leg of their trip brings them to
Pamplona and here they participate in one of the most dangerous
activities - Bull Run. Along with these cities, there are short glimpses
of Barcelona, Andalusia and United Kingdom shown in the rushes as well.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani - Last in the list we have this year's blockbuster movie,
Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani. A
movie that brought to us snowy hills and colorful springs. To explore
the Himalaya mountains, the lead couple, played by
Deepika Padukone and
Ranbir Kapoor, along with their friends, go on an exciting hiking trip
to Manali where they redefine their relationships. Snowy mountains makes
your eyes widen as the actors playfully dive into the huge layers of
snow. If that wasn't enough, the actors play Holi on the streets in
Manali. The sequence has both leads shaking a leg while dancing amidst a
rainbow of colors, each color representing something new, making it is
impossible to look away. The film also captures the thrilling and
ancient beauty of Rajasthan.
Other
movies that have shown the same are; Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge, Ek Tha
Tiger, Singh is King and Jab Tak Hai Jaan and many more.
Did that make you daydream? Want to back your bags and jet off somewhere new and exciting right now? We do for sure. While we bring out our maps and bicker over our destinations, we look forward to hearing your favorite movie locations that you have seen in recent times. Until then, bon voyage!
