May 15th marks the birthday of two actors of Bollywood who can make you
smile and cry within a blink - the
Dhak Dhak girl
Madhuri Dixit Nene turns a year older and so
does
Shiney Ahuja!
Often cited as the actress with a golden smile,
Madhuri Dixit made her debut on the silver-screen in Rajshri productions
Abodh at the tender age of 17, However, it was the movie
Tezaab that found
her glamour and fame. Since then, Madhuri has proved to be a
versatile actress where one could see her portray the role of an
arrogant girl in
Dil, a devoted wife in
Beta, a revenge seeking wife in
Anjaam and a courtesan in
Devdas with equal conviction. Famous artist MF Hussain was so enraptured with Madhuri that he even ended up making a movie -
Gaja Gamini - which she starred in and was a tribute for the lovely actress herself. A movie titled
Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon,
where Antra Mali plays a girl who wanted to be the next
Madhuri Dixit
and make it big in Bollywood was also tributed to Madhuri. The actress
made her first appearance on TV hosting a reality show called
Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai and will soon be returning as a judge on
Jhalak Dikhla Jaa along with Remo D'Souza and Karan Johar.
Madhuri
has so far won six Filmfare awards - four
of which are for Best Female Actress while two for supporting roles. A
special Filmfare award was also presented to her for completing 25 years
in Bollywood and in 2008 she
was awarded the Padma Shri. With a wonderful family life, Madhuri is a
loving wife to Dr Shriram Chandra Nene and a mother of two wonderful boys.
Madhuri also
ranks much before others on the dance platform, thanks to her grace and
her early training in Kathak; the song "Kaahe Chhed Mohe" choreographed
by Pandit Birju Maharaj stands as proof. She also has a long list of
songs to her credit and choosing
a few is a hard task. However, the popular one that make you shake a leg
stand as thus; the sensual "Dhak Dhak Karne Laga" from Beta, the enchanting "Ek Do Teen" from Tezaab, "Chane Ke Khet
Mein" from Anjaam, the lively "Didi Tera Devar Deewana" from Hum
Aapke Hain Kaun, "Choli Ke Peechhe" from Khalnaayak,
"Akhiyan Milaun" from Raja, "Mera Piya Ghar Aaya" from Yaarana, the fun "Koi Ladki Hai" from Dil To Pagal Hai, "Kay Sera Sera" from Pukar and the soulful "Maar
Daala" from Devdas.
Born in Delhi,
Shiney Ahuja was always attracted to theatre right from college days. He attended several workshops of NSD and
joined the theatre group
Tag. Soon, he started modelling and acted in various commercials. He also

Hazaron Khwahishen Aisi which
was released in various film festivals before hitting the cinematic
theatres. He won five awards for Best Debut Male (Filmfare, IIFA,
Screen, Stardust and Zee Cine Awards) for the
role of Vikram Malhotra. His next movie was
Gangster which was a
hit and his role Daya in the film impressed both the critics and the box
office. He has also beautifully played the 'other
man' in Shilpa Shetty's character's life in
Life In A...Metro. Shiney also gave a fine performance as Vidya Balan's husband in the suspense thriller,
Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Bringing
Shiney Ahuja playlists, a few of his popular songs are "Labon Ko Labon Pe" from
