Films that teach life lessons!

Bollywood movies are usually associated with music, dance and romance. But, sometimes, it's much more deeper than what meets the eye. One mainly watches movies for entertainment, but there are certain movies that, along with providing entertainment, give you lifelong lessons. And, today, on Teacher's Day, BollyCurry brings to you some of these lifelong lessons from some of your favourite movies. However, we did want to caution you that the article contains some major spoilers, so be sure to skip the paragraph for whatever movie you haven't watched yet!

A film that made you laugh, cry, and fall in love... all at the same time. But more than that, it taught us some really important lessons of life. One of these lessons is "go for excellence, success will follow" as Rancho (Aamir Khan) is heard saying quite a few times throughout the movie. And even the movie signified the same, where Rancho is going for excellence, while Chatur (Omi Vaidya) is running after success. The movie portrays how success ran after excellence, and, in the end, excellence wins. A second vital lesson that is shown throughout the movie is "study not to become a degree holder or to get a certificate, but study to learn something new every day, and to gain knowledge". And last, but not the least, "follow your dreams, become something that you want to be because it gives you happiness, and not because the society demands you to choose a certain career path". That's the message that is crystal clear in the movie, with various examples, such as suicide, wrong career selections, etc. Chase your dreams, and happiness will chase you.

Everyone should be treated equally, irrespective of how they are and how they behave. Everyone is special and should be treated the same. Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) is a dyslexic child who no one understands, until Nikhumb (Aamir Khan) an art teacher appears and the lessons he teaches, touch everyone's heart. One of the most important lessons is to never look down on your children, don't discourage them, and give them the attention they deserve. The film teaches us not to look down upon people and to treat everyone equally as there is something special in all of us! Some people have a rocky start but at the end they do reach heights of success.

The sweet and silent story of Barfi, silently taught us numerous morals.  One of them is that trust is the most important thing in a relationship. The foundation of any relation is trust, and it's trust that makes the relationship stronger. Once you have earned that trust, do everything in your power to cherish and keep it. Another essential lesson that we learned is that when an opportunity knocks at your door, you should take it by the horns! You never know when circumstances may change, and you miss the opportunity of a lifetime. And with that follows another big lesson. Never live a life with regrets, you won't be able to amend the mistakes you once made. So let go of regrets and enjoy life's small joys and happiness; move on, but most importantly learn from those mistakes. And lastly a lesson that we all should learn from is that one should smile a lot and spread cheer. Always smile no matter what situation you're in. A smile makes you feel good, it also helps to reduce stress. Along with making you feel good, a smile can also make someone else's day beautiful.

A movie that made a girl live again, ended up teaching us quite a lot! One important lesson it taught us was to never give up and have determination to succeed. No matter how hard life seems to be, there's always light at the end of the tunnel. And sometimes all you need to give a person is love and have faith in them, to see them blossom in front of you. Also, it's not right to judge a person due to what they don't have, but cherish what they do have; you never know the intelligence of a person until it's tested. Just because a person lacks something, doesn't mean he's any less than anyone else. As Michelle (Rani Mukherjee) copes with her condition of being blind, dumb, and deaf, she "sees" a light at the end of the tunnel in the form of Debraj Sahai (Amitabh Bachchan). Debraj almost mistreats her as he teaches her to live and communicate even while being dumb, deaf, and blind. And we realize in the end how much Michelle has learned when she not only gets an university degree, but also goes back to her teacher, Debraj, and tries to get him to remember the basic things in life as he has been struck by Alzheimer's.

A movie based on dance and skills. One of the central lessons of this movie is that you don't need to belong to a high class society to achieve something. In this case, a dancer makes it big, not because they were big, but because they had the skills, the passion, and the mind to make it happen! Money doesn't mean everything and it cannot stop you from reaching where you want to be. As Vishnu (Prabhu Deva) and his disciples, D (Dharmesh Yelande) and Rocky (Salman Yusuff Khan), fight for their dreams they prove again and again that rich and powerful Jehangir Khan (Kay Kay Menon) cannot stop them. Another important lesson is to never give up on your dreams, no matter how many obstacles come your way, never give up. Stick to them, and fight everything that comes your way, and you shall be rewarded handsomely.
