Love is unconditional. You've heard us say this again and again.
Whether it is the forbidden love of children from warring families or
the love between two strangers who get engaged and then fall deeply in
love with each other, Bollywood has done it all. They've shown time and
time again that love is truly a wonderful feeling. A feeling which can
make even the smallest of love stories into something big
and magnanimous. And today, in the final part of our
Different Faces of Love, we bring to you these small love stories that have become a part of us.
In every ordinary jodi there
is an extraordinary love story. The tagline of
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, this line very
aptly sums the whole movie. Surinder "Suri" (
Shah Rukh Khan) meets the
daughter of his professor, Taani (
Anushka Sharma), and ends up marrying her
after the professor asks him to on his deathbed. Taani tells Suri that she can't
love him, but he has already fallen in love with her. Suri then becomes Raj
to make Taani become the old bubbly Taani again. In the process, Taani falls in love
with Raj but who will she choose when the time comes to make a decision?
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
received many positive reviews and broke many box office records. It won and
was nominated for many awards as well.

In 2008, Sameer and Kunal pretended to be in love to rent an
apartment only to discover that the owner, Neha, was too attractive to act gay.
The movie we're talking about is
Dostana casted by
Abhishek Bachchan,
John Abraham, and
Priyanka Chopra respectively. While
Sameer and Kunal try every way possible to impress Neha, Neha falls for her
boss, Abhimanyu (
Bobby Deol). Sameer and Kunal's gay love became the talk of
the town, especially when they kiss to ask forgiveness from Neha.
Dostana became a huge success and a sequel is in the making with plans to be released
in mid 2013.
A

love story is one thing, but a 16
th century love
story is another.
Jodha Akbar is an epic love story about a political marriage of convenience between a Mughal
emperor, Akbar (
Hrithik Roshan), and a Rajput princess, Jodhaa (
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan). After the marriage, Akbar must
win Jodhaa's love who resents being reduced to a political pawn. The movie did well at the box office and with critics; the idea of showing
a 16
th century love story in the 21
st century was quite
unique and different.

This
movie became both a box office and received worldwide critical acclaim.
It has also gone on to win many awards at this year's award ceremonies.
Jhilmil (
Priyanka Chopra), an autistic girl, and Barfi (
Ranbir Kapoor),
a dumb and deaf boy, are best friends. Barfi and Shruti (Ileana D'Cruz)
are in love, but Shruti is married to someone else. When they meet
again, Shruti wants to rekindle the romance, but Barfi has by now fallen
for Jhilmil. A unique love story,
Barfi!, brought forward the idea of love that goes beyond words or disabilities.

Finally, we bring to you a more recent love story of three youthful
students. While the movie was centered on a competition, another
competition took place between two boys for one girl. Any guesses as to
which movie we're talking
about? We're, of course, are talking about the one and only
Student
of the Year! Rohan (
Varun Dhawan) and Abhimanyu (Siddharth Malhotra) both
love Shanaya (
Alia Bhatt) but their competition for her heart breaks apart their friendship.
The film has been declared a huge success both in the box office and by
critics. It has also won and been nominated for several awards.
Love. A very sweet word yet powerful word. February may be considered the month of
love, but these movies can be watched on any month, any day, at any time. BollyCurry only hopes that Bollywood continues to
bring forward such range of movies continue to spread the meaning of love!
