The year has just began, and for Bollywood, it seems like it's not on a bright note. Table No. 21, which released on January 4th, did
an average collection at the Indian Box Office. The film, directed by
Aditya Dutt, has Paresh Rawal, Rajeev Khandelwal and Tena Desae as its
main leads. Though the movie didn't have a great start, it successfully
beat others that released on the same day, like Dehraadun Diary, Dekha Ko Pehli Baat, Meri Shadi Karo and Rajdhani Express. It also took second place in collections, following Salman Khan's extremely popular Dabangg 2.
This game show based action thriller was a much-awaited movie with the promos creating lots of curiosity among the cine-goers. The film managed to rake in an unimpressive Rs. 6.34 crores over the weekend with an average collection opening of Rs. 1.55 crores. Though Table No. 21 didn't get the expected opening considering the fact that it had arrived with nominal promotion and a tough competition in Dabangg 2, it still managed to see an increase on Saturday and Sunday. Critically, the movie received mixed reviews ranging from average to good to very good.
Well, with the Anushka Sharma-Imran Khan starrer Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola releasing this Friday, we hope the Box Office sees a better reception.
