They came, they charmed, and they conquered the Box Office with their
scintillating performances. These superstars broke many hearts when
they decided to quit the silver screen for various reasons. However, the
divas made their much anticipated comeback in 2012 after years of
hiatus.
Sridevi Kapoor, our first candidate on the list, adorned the
silver screen with her power-packed performance after 15 long years with
director Gauri Shinde's
English Vinglish. She plays the role of
a housewife, Shashi Godbole in this comedy-drama movie. It showcases
the journey of Shashi, a simple housewife who runs a small business
making
ladoos to going to New York and enrolling herself in an
English learning course to please her husband and her family. Not only
has the film received universal critical acclaim, the cerebral crowd
loved it and declared the movie a must watch.
Sridevi successfully won
the hearts of fans all over the world as
English Vinglish was declared a Hit. Once again, she reminded everyone of why she was one of the most successful actresses of her time.

Next on the list is
Juhi Chawla, who plays one of the leads in the recently released
Son of Sardaar. This movie marks her comeback in mainstream commercial cinema after 2 years. She was last seen in
Luck by Chance in
2009. Juhi plays a cute and funny character named Pammi, who was
supposed to get married to Billu, the character played by Sanjay Dutt.
But due to some reasons the marriage is put on a halt. Even though
Son of Sardaar opened
with mixed reviews from the critics, it managed to do excellent
business at the Box Office and Juhi's performance was classified as
outstanding.

Lastly Lolo, as she is fondly called by many, also made a comeback this year with Vikram Bhatt's
Dangerous Ishhq which was released on May 11, 2012. After a gap of 6 years since her last release
Mere Jeevan Saathi in
2006, Karisma Kapur played the role of a supermodel Sanjana who
undergoes past life regression after she starts remembering her past
lives. Even though the film was a complete disaster at the Box Office,
the critics praised Karishma for her earnest performance.
Now that
they're officially back to Bollywood, we at BollyCurry hope to continue
seeing their fantastic work more often. Any other actress you would
like to see make a comeback to Bollywood?
