Happy Birthday Padmini, Aishwarya and Ileana!

November 1st marks a special day for Bollywood as it celebrates the birthday of three beautiful actresses from different generations. Padmini Kohlapure who made her presence primarily in the 1980s, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan who made her acting debut in 1997 and our latest debutante, Ileana D'Cruz.

The yesteryear actress, Padmini Kohlapure, who belongs to a Maharashtrian family, was born on November 1st, 1965. As a child, she sang in the chorus for films like Yaadon Ki Baarat, Kitab and Dushman Dost, who then later sang in her own movies like Vidhaata, Hum Intezaar Karenge and Sadak Chaap. Padmini was known for her professionalism and diligence and bagged her first Filmfare Best Actress Award for Prem Rog.

Sharing her birthday with Padmini Kohlapure is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. "The most beautiful woman in the world", as often cited by the media, turns 39 this year. Aishwarya started her career as a model who ultimately went on to win the prestigious Miss India and Miss World pageant titles in 1994. She has starred in films in various languages including Hindi, English, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali. Aishwarya made her debut with Mani Ratnam's Tamil film Iruvar but earned the public recognition in the Hindi cinema with movies such as Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, for which she fetched Best Actress awards at Filmfare. She was also nominated for Filmfare Best Actress Award for her last adventure Guzaarish in 2010, amongst many others. After giving birth to a baby girl, Aishwarya is enjoying motherhood and is in no hurry to make her comeback.

Joining in celebrating her birthday with the above mentioned ladies is the Barfi! girl, Ileana D'Cruz. Ileana started her film career with a Telugu film in 2006, where she appeared in few blockbusters such as Pokri, Jalsa, Kick, and Julayi, followed by her first Bollywood break in Barfi! for which she has received critical appreciation. Her next project, Phata Poster Nikla Hero is still in the pre-production stage.
