Love! Sigh, the most wonderful feeling one can feel in a lifetime. However, where there is love, there is bound to be heat - the creative theme for this month. The heat referred to in this article is about the on-screen passion and deep love between the couple that often leaves viewers amazed. Sometimes though, the heat is kicked up an notch when a third person, often referred to as 'kabab mei haddi', ends up in between the couple to add friction and create the classic love triangle. Keeping the theme in mind, here we present the top three of the most memorable couples in Bollywood which have managed to create a special place in our hearts and minds!
Starting from the beginning of time, the trio to steal the
first position is Nandini (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), Sameer (Salman Khan) and
Vanraj (Ajay Devgan) from the movie Hum
Dil De Chuke Sanam. The name of the movie itself can make a person
go in a
trance. Simply dreamy isn't it? Well, the deep connection and love
between the characters is plain adorable. This trio manages to pluck
many a heart-stings with the pain they go through, the obstacles they
cross and the sacrifices they make all in the name of love! Each member
of the trio loves the other immensely and the film's
ending, a culmination of this complex love web, managed to move numerous
to tears and left others with a sense of irony. This trio made us
laugh, cry, shudder in pain and learn that true love does prevail in the
end!
The melodious, love songs of the movie made it yet more magical. The classic sequences and hauntingly sweet melodies in "Ankhon ki Gustakhiyan" and "Chand Chupa Badal Mein" left viewers in love-filled haze. However, the one that really turned the heat up was the painful, yet so relevant "Tadap Tadap". The song was full of pain and passion with lyrics that are extremely enchanting and apt in expressing their heart's pains and dilemmas. Kudos to the composer and lyricist for such a masterpiece!
The next Bollywood trio that managed to make us feel the heat were Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan), Pooja (Madhuri
Dixit) and Nisha (Karishma Kapoor) from Dil To Pagal Hai. All
three were quite different in their approaches to love, yet their paths
cross repeatedly. Pooja, the dreamy one, believed love to be as
omnipresent as air itself and believed that there was someone made for
everyone. Rahul, the non-believer, didn't believe in love at all! And
Nisha, never thought about it, yet was hopelessly in love with Rahul.
However, fate had different plans. Their paths crossed, fate intervened
and the polar opposites gravitated towards each other and Rahul and
Pooja fell for each other! This lovely musical romantic drama has it all
- dreams, unrequited love, drama, heartache and finally the picture
perfect ending that leaves us with the warm, tingly feeling of true
love!
This movie, being a musical, contains a number of historical songs as well. The title song itself along with "Bholi Si Surat" and "Dholna" are perfectly attuned to the one in love. The lyrics and sweet melodies in these songs makes them some of the best songs to turn on when in love! The scenes portrayed in them increases the intensity in everyone's hearts bit by bit until tears of happiness erupt! However, the song that really raises the heat quotient is the ever popular "Ek Duje ke Vaaste". This classic, haunting song has no comparison whatsoever when it comes to love songs that really strike a deep cord in viewers' hearts!
The last movie to round up this trio list is the recent Cocktail,
a recently released movie that has managed to win many-a-hearts! In
this decade (since 2010), this one definitely features one of the most
unique love triangles. Veronica (Deepika Padukone), Meera (Diana Penty)
and Gautam (Saif Ali
Khan) are the major players in one of the best romantic trios in the
recent few years. The twist in the story is that the male lead ends up
falling for both women (or at least for a while)!
Now there's a dilemma, for sure. In the end, true love finds its way and
everything comes to a resolution! The way, however, is laden with
drama, tears and some intense friction. This modern ocean of feelings
between the three, with its different waves and tides, is a
pleasure to watch on screen. The perfect balance of friendship seems to
be what is holding the trio and this movie together. If you want to
forgo the classic jealousy and revenge, give this one a watch!
The music of Cocktail is a mixed bag. The most popular song "Tumhi Ho Bandhu", focusing mostly on friendship rather than love, is a somewhat electronic song which has the ability to put the listener in a trance. The most relevant song to this list is "Yaariyan" perhaps. The lyrics and haunting melody make it the perfect song to portray the pain of heartbreak, yet still continues to keep the film's modern feel! The album also features a reprise version of this track. This acoustic version hits particularly hard with its intimate lyrics and litling vocals and ends up being the song that calls to the true Devdas in us who is pining away for love. Other songs in this versatile and a must-listen-to album include "Daaru Desi", "Jugni", "Main Sharaabi", etc.
Many more such as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kal Ho Na Ho, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna can be included in this list of hot Bollywood Love Triangles. But picking from different time frames and different stories, these three are the chosen ones. We hope you enjoyed having a rewinded tape of memory through this article! Do let us know which is your favorite Bollywood love triangle!
