Its bad news for Desi Boyz as the upcoming comedy has been hit by a law suit by writer, Shyam Devkatte.
Starring the Garam Masala duo, Akshay Kumar and John Abraham, Rohit Dhawan's
directorial debut has found itself in a copyright row following Devkatte's
claims that the movie shares an uncanny resemblance to a script registered by
him with the Film Writers Association all the way back in 2009. The writer claims he had also shared his
script with Rohit Dhawan and was surprised upon seeing the first promo.
However, any attempts to contact Dhawan for an explanation resulted in Devkatte being threatened and abused.
Currently the case has moved to Bombay High Court and the writer is demanding appropriate compensation and a delay on the release of the movie.
With Desi Boyz scheduled for a release on the 25th of next month, we'll have to wait and see what the outcome is!
