A blood donation camp organized to commemorate the
52nd birthday of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, held in Pune at the
Sambhaji Garden on J M road, has found an extra cause to make news.
Salman Khan, who has in recent years been associated with all sorts of
noble and charity acts, made appearance at the occasion, to donate blood
himself.
The crowd of commoners were held up at the camp for two reasons
hence - to meet the celebrated Khan and to a win 4 GB pen-drive (a prize
kept as an event promotional motivation). As many as an approximate
number of 10,000 donors were gathered together at this event for the
good cause; not to mention countless many who were encouraged to donate
blood in following Salman's cue.
While the presence of a star can be source of some
inconvenience to general public at such occasions, one has to agree,
there is the other side of drawing greater crowds and motivating them
for a good purpose. A fair trade off, at that?!
