Aamir's quest for an item girl!

Incidentally, this same item number was also anticipated to star the lovely Sheila aka Katrina Kaif at one point - as per a unanimous choice from the cast and crew of the film. However, Kat had to excuse herself citing some date issues. So much so that Katrina, in a recent interview, was actually heard voicing her interest of performing an item number for Aamir, but confirming at the same time that it was not her who was doing the one for this said Imran starrer. An interesting scoop in this regard claims that Katrina's actual back out was on account of her reluctance to be cast in an item song with Imran who is her junior in the industry.

Surprising?! Sure, given that the same junior IK is one of her co-stars for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

Deepika Padukone too was eventually approached with an offer to do this item number for Aamir's production, but she too had date problems - busy as she is shooting for Desi Boyz in London currently. Also, because her Dum Maaro Dum appeal didn't woo the audience half as much as some peers, nobody tried their luck on that front again.
