Things did not look too well for Vivek Oberoi's manager, Raj Roy, when the actor was exposed to his manager's strong addiction for smoking. As an ambassador for an anti-smoking campaign and a spokesperson for the World Health Organization, the actor rigidly believes in cigarettes being cancer sticks that not only puts the smoker at risk, but he/she also selfishly effect the lives of friends and family around them. So it wasn't hard for Vivek to quickly take responsibility of Roy's unhealthy habit, making him quit at the first chance possible. It took months, but eventually Vivek was able to successfully persuade Raj in giving up smoking.
Wondering how? Read on!
When Vivek's request of not smoking at work was ignored - Roy would resume smoking when Vivek had left the building - Vivek finally gave his manager an ultimatum - either Roy stop smoking around him and work related sites or to resign. Many times, Roy was forbidden to enter Vivek's Juhu office because he suspected that Raj had taken a smoke. With this method, the Prince star was able to help cut down Roy's smoking down to only one or two cigarettes a day.
However, that was not enough. Vivek soon used another method to help Roy quit altogether; the actor forbade vendors around his home in selling any cigarettes to Roy. With this, Roy slowly weaned off the health-injurious sticks and to this day, Vivek still supports Roy, making sure he evades a smoking company that could reignite his old passion.
Here's a big cheer to Vivek for making the world a better place, one step (read: man) at a time!
