Gone are the days where a sturdy plot and a decent star cast of a
movie ensured it was a success, now that item songs have taken the
Bollywood industry by storm!
"Munni Badnaam Hui" and "Sheila Ki
Jawani" may have topped the charts last year but here comes yet another
rival threatening to rule as the number one item feature. This time,
it's the
Dabangg gal,
Sonakshi Sinha giving it her all!
"Dance Karle English Mein", the upcoming item song from the yet-to-be released
Joker, co-staring
Akshay Kumar, has primitively been shot in a village. If by going on
that, you conclude that Sonakshi is to don the role of the
typical-village belle yet again, think again.
The director, Shirish Kunder (of Jaan-E-Mann fame), clears up all confusions by stating Sonakshi does not play a village lass but actually a videshi beauty. In the film, both Sonakshi and Akshay return to their village from abroad and attempt to make themselves "desi" to blend in - thus the item song.
The
director also refuses to call the feature an item song claiming it to
be completely different from the likes of Munni and Shiela or even other
items numbers. But what makes it even more unique, is that the song
contains over ten different languages!
From shy village girl to a jhatak-mode, Sonakshi is surely showing everyone what she's got!
