RK's Barfee goes musical!

Ranbir Kapoor's forthcoming film Barfee, alongside Priyanka Chopra, has already garnered plenty of buzz for its supposedly unconventional storyline centered on a deaf and mute hero played by Ranbir and his mentally challenged lady love portrayed by Priyanka. The film was assumed to be a solemn conscience-provoking look into the lives of those who suffer from handicaps. However, we now hear that the film is rather cheery and views these difficult circumstances from the bright side!

Even though Barfee revolves around the trials and tribulations of two disabled protagonists, the  script hasreportedly been kept essentially light and optimistic. The film is said to include a lot of fun, frolic, quick wit, and - as expected in a Bollywood entertainer - plenty of dance and music. Ironically, the film will have 10-12 songs even though the hero can neither hear nor speak. Given these light touches that were written into the film, its title was changed from the initially suggested Silence to current final Barfee, early in the production process. 

Sources state that even though Ranbir's character is a silent one in this film, he will be presented in a rather sprightly manner. He shall portray a lad, goofy and fun-loving, one who doesn't take himself or his difficult circumstances with stoic resignation.

Well, here's wishing the film's team all the best; we hope their creativity is rewarded with a ringing  Box Office register soon enough!
